Varsity Field

Varsity FieldLocated in a picturesque campus setting, Varsity Field has been the popular home of the Muhlenberg College soccer teams since the inception of the men's program in 1943.

Muhlenberg substantially renovated Varsity Field in the summer of 1997. The improvements included a sod/sand injection  natural turf, irrigation system, bleachers, lighting, scoreboard and press loft.

Pro Premier World Competition goals were added to the field in 2003, and the field was resodded again in 2009.

Varsity Field has hosted numerous NCAA Tournament matches over the years, including men's single games in 1972, 1995, 1997 and 2003; men's regionals in 1989, 1991 and 1994; a men's sectional in 2010; women's single games in 2002 and women’s regionals in 2001 and 2003.

Due in part to tremendous support from the campus and surrounding community, both Mule soccer teams have enjoyed a homefield advantage. Since 1986, the men are 181-49-17 (.767) at Varsity Field, setting a school record with 12 home wins in 2003. The women are 90-33-8 (.718) on their home field since 1998 and were unbeaten at home in 29 straight regular-season Centennial Conference games from 1999 to 2004.
